    golden syrup

    cake flour

    ground ginger

    bicarbonate of soda

    ml

Method

Preheat the oven to 190 ºC (375 ºF). Spray a few baking sheets with non-stick spray or grease well or line with baking paper. Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and golden syrup, beating well. Sift together all the dry ingredients. Add to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix well to form a manageable dough. Roll the dough into small balls. Place on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball with a fork and bake for 10-12 minutes or until done. Cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight containers. Makes 230 cookies.
