    large onion, chopped

    butter
  • 10

    cooking oil
  • 250

    minced lean beef
  • 250
    g
    minced pork
  • 100
    ml
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1
    carrot, grated
  • 100
    ml
    dry white wine
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1
    ml
    ground cloves
  • 3
    ml
    ground coriander
  • 25
    ml
    chopped parsley
 

Method

 
1. Sauté onion in heated butter and cooking oil in a heavy-based saucepan until translucent. 2. Mix all ingredients lightly and shape into a 20 mm thick giant round burger on a greased baking sheet. 3. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and grill under the element or over coals until golden brown, or bake at 160 ºC for 45 minutes. 4. Slice and serve with bread rolls
