Fish casserole

    hake fillets

    potatoes, sliced
  • 2
    large onions, sliced into rings
  • salt and black pepper
  • 250
    g
    bacon, cut into pieces
  • butter or margarine
  • 500
    ml
    milk
  • 25
    g
    onion soup powder
 

Method

1 hr 30 min
 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease an ovenproof dish with butter. Arrange a layer of hake fillets in the bottom of the dish, followed by a layer of potatoes and onion rings. Season lightly with salt and black pepper to taste. Arrange a layer of bacon on top and repeat the layers, ending with a layer of potato slices. Dot with butter. Blend the milk and onion soup powder together and pour on top. Cover and bake for about one and a half hours or till the potatoes and fish are done. Remove the lid during the last half hour of cooking. Serves 6.
