Egg-free banana and apple bread

    soft vegetable margarine

    brown sugar

    milk

    large banana, peeled and mashed
  • 1
    apple, peeled and grated
  • glacé icing, to decorate
  • chopped nuts, to decorate

Oven temperature: 180°C

Sift the flours, baking powder and mixed spice together in a bowl.
Beat the margarine and sugar together until light and creamy. Stir in the milk, mashed banana and grated apple and mix until just combined.

Add the sifted flour and beat together on a low speed. Pour the mixture into a greased loaf tin. Bake in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
Turn out on a baking rack to cool. Once cooled, top with glacé icing and chopped nuts.
