Creamy baked pears

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Butter an oven dish that will hold the pear halves snugly. Halve each pear lengthwise and core. Place the pear halves in the greased dish, cut sides facing down. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, cover and bake for 10 minutes. Pour over the cream, cover again and bake for another 20 minutes. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes more, or until the pears are tender and the sauce has thickened. Serve with extra cream or plain yoghurt if desired.
