Cowboy mince dish

    rashers bacon, finely chopped
  • 2
    small onions, finely chopped
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 500

    mince
  • salt and freshly ground, black pepper
  • 410
    g
    baked beans in tomato sauce
  • 1
    cube tomato paste extract, dissolved in 150 ml (3/5 c) boiling water
  • 5
    ml
    paprika
  • 1
    ml
    cayenne pepper
  • 10
    ml
    sugar
 

Method

 
Fry the bacon in a pan until crisp. Remove from the pan. Sauté the onion and garlic in the pan fat until glossy. Add the mince and stir-fry until done. Return the bacon to the pan and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add the beans and the prepared tomato paste. Simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and season with the remaining ingredients. Serve with rice. Serves 4.
