Choc nut pears

Recipe from: 6/22/2001 12:00:00 AM

Ingredients 4
Servings 1

Serving Change
  • 4
    large, ripe, firm pears
  • 50
    dark chocolate
  • 50
    peanut brittle
  • 250
    orange juice

Preheat oven to 180 ºC.
Halve pears at the bulge.
Scrape a little flesh out of the inside of each lid, set aside.
Scoop out pips and a bit of flesh - enough to make a 2 cm hollow from each pear.
Roughly chop chocolate and brittle - either by hand or in the food processor.
Note they must be chopped separately or the brittle will end up like glass. Fill each cavity with the mixture.
Replace pear lids and secure in place with a wooden skewer.
Pour orange juice into a baking pan. Place pears in orange juice and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through but still firm.
