Choc and gooseberry croissant bake

Ingredients

  • 125
    ml
    cream
  • 150
    g
    caramelised condensed milk
  • 1
    large egg
  • 50
    g
    dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4
    croissants
  • 200
    g
    fresh gooseberries (or one can, drained)
 

Method

10 to 15 minutes
 
Whisk cream and caramelised condensed milk until smooth.
Add egg and half the chocolate.
Slice the croissants lengthwise and place bottom halves in individual ramekins or in a baking dish.
Top with the gooseberries and some chocolate.
Pour in the filling and cover with the tops of the croissants.
Sprinkle on remaining chocolate and bake in a preheated 180 °C oven for 15 minutes or until golden.

VARIATION
Replace the chocolate and gooseberries with two sliced bananas and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bananas taste wonderful with the caramel.
