Ingredients (6)

250.00 g butter
220.00 g castor sugar
260.00 g flour — cake
35.00 g cornflour
20.00 g cocoa powder
100.00 g hazelnuts

Method:

Oven temperature: 140°C
1. Beat the butter and castor sugar. Sift
the dry ingredients and add to the butter
mixture, along with the crushed nuts.

2. Knead to form a smooth dough, then
press into an ungreased baking tin.
Prick the surface all over with a fork.
Sprinkle the coarsely chopped nuts over
the surface and press lightly. Bake in
a preheated oven for 20 minutes, then
reduce the heat to 120°C and bake for a
further hour or until cooked through.

3. Cut into squares or rectangles while still
warm. Leave to cool slightly before turning
out onto a cooling rack, then leave to
cool completely.
