Ingredients (12)

10.00 ml sesame oil
5.00 ml canola oil — or peanut oil
1.00 onion
2.00 garlic — cloves
1.00 chilli
0.00 green beans
15.00 ml sherry — dry
30.00 ml soy sauce
5.00 ml brown sugar
5.00 ml cornflour
0.00 mixed bean sprouts — handful
0.00 sesame seeds — toasted

Method:

Heat oils in a large wok or frying pan. When hot, add onion, garlic and chilli.
Stir fry for a few seconds and add vegetables.
Cook vegetables over a high heat for a minute or two.
Meanwhile mix sherry, soy, sugar and comflour together.
Add liquid and cook until vegetables are just done – they should remain quite crunchy and firm.
Stir in bean sprouts and sesame seeds.
Serve immediately as a side dish or with rice or noodles as a main course.
