Chinese chicken wings

    sesame seed oil

    dark soy sauce
  • 15

    sherry
  • 2
    ml
    Chinese five spice powder
  • 2
    ml
    ground ginger

    chicken wings, cleaned and patted dry
  • salt and pepper
 

Method

 
Blend the sauce ingredients in a fairly large dish and marinate the wings in the mixture for 1 hour, ensuring they are completely covered with the marinade. Switch on the oven grill and arrange the wings on the rack of an oven pan. Season with salt and pepper. Grill for about 5-8 minutes on each side until tender and done, brushing occasionally with the marinade. Serve hot with a sweet atchar. Serves 4-6.
