Chicken kebabs marinated in sweet chili

Tasty snacks to spice up any get-together.

Ingredients

 
  • 16 - 20
    kebab sticks, soaked in water for 30 – 45 minutes
  • 800
    g
    deboned chicken fillets, cubed
  • 80
    ml
    sweet chilli sauce
  • 60
    ml
    soya sauce
  • 10
    ml
    fresh grated ginger root
  • 2
    garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 1
    ml
    mustard powder
  • 60
    ml
    olive oil
  • 15
    ml
    honey
  • 15
    ml
    fresh lemon juice

Method

 
Spear 4 to 5 cubes of chicken onto a kebab stick.
Mix the chilli sauce, soya sauce, ginger, garlic, mustard powder, oil, honey and lemon together in a plastic container.
Marinade the chicken kebabs for 24 to 36 hours in this mixture.
Oven roast in a  pre-heated 190ºC oven for 8 to 10 minutes or cook on a medium-heat braai for 10 minutes.
Serve at room temperature.
