    cake flour

    salt

    butter
  • 85
    ml
    ice-cold soda water
  • 20
    ml
    brandy
  • 200
    g
    Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Paprika
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Grease a baking sheet with margarine. Sift the cake flour and salt together. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until well blended. Mix the soda water and brandy. Add to the flour mixture and mix until smooth. Rest for 30 minutes in the fridge. Roll out the dough into a 3 mm thick rectangle. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Roll up the dough like a Swiss roll. Cut into 1 cm slices. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika and serve hot.
