Cheese and potato bake

    potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 250
    ml
    cream or sour cream
  • 1
    large clove garlic, crushed
  • 45
    ml
    parsley, finely chopped
  • 150
    g
    uncoloured cheese, grated
  • 50
    g
    Cheddar cheese, grated
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray an ovenproof dish with non-stick spray. Arrange the potato slices in the prepared oven dish and season well with salt and pepper. Mix the remaining ingredients, except the Cheddar cheese, and pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle with the Cheddar cheese. Cover with aluminium oil and bake for 60 minutes or until the potatoes are done. Remove the aluminium foil 20 minutes before the end of the baking time so the dish can brown nicely. Serve with braaivleis.
