Ingredients

  • 1
    l
    milk
  • 1/2
    cup
    sugar
  • 3
    cardamon pods
  • 2
    cinnamon sticks
  • 125
    g
    vermicelli
  • 60
    g
    butter
  • 1
    Tbs
    sago
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 1
    ml
    almond oil or 2.5ml almond essence
  • sultanas and flaked almonds (optional)
 

Method

40 mins
 
Let the sago soak in boiling water until needed.
Melt butter in pot and add the vermicelli and let it brown, stir occasionally so not to burn.
Add the milk carefully and the essences and sugar.
Now the add, elachi, cinnamon sticks and sago.
Let the mixture boil (do not leave unattended).
When the first bubbles appear switch to a low heat to allow boeber to cream.
Add the sultanas and almonds, if using.

Chef notes:
If the mixture is too thick, add milk according to taste.
