    g
    cake flour
  • 5
    ml
    baking powder
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 1
    egg
  • 125
    ml
    beer
  • cooking oil for frying
 

Method

 
Sift together the dry ingredients. Beat together egg and beer, add flour and mix to a batter. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan. Fry spoonfuls of batter in oil until brown on both sides. Drain on kitchen paper. Alternatively, make a stiffer dough (use less liquid), leave to prove and divide into small balls. Deep-fry in a pan of hot cooking oil until golden. Scoop out the centre and fill with desired fillings.
