Beer loaf in a jiffy

Ingredients

  • 500
    g
    self-raising flour
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • 340
    ml
    beer
  • 50
    g
    grated cheese
 

Method

Sift the self-raising flour and salt together.

Add the beer and stir until thoroughly mixed (add a little extra water, if necessary).

Turn the batter into a greased microwave loaf pan and sprinkle the grated cheese on top.

Microwave for 10 minutes at 70 per cent power. Leave to cool slightly in the pan. Turn out on a wire rack. If the base is still slightly moist, microwave upside down for a further 1 to 2 minutes at 70 per cent power. Makes 1 medium loaf.
