Beef satays with peanut sauce

Ingredients

    g
    beef schnitzel
  • 100
    ml
    soy sauce
  • 3
    cloves garlic
  • 10
    ml
    ginger
  • 10
    ml
    lemon zest
  • Peanut sauce
  • 15
    ml
    sunflower or peanut oil
  • 1
    onion
  • 250
    ml
    coconut milk
  • 125
    ml
    chunky peanut butter
  • 30
    ml
    sweet chilli sauce
  • 20
    ml
    soy sauce
 

Method

10 minutes
 
Cut beef into 1cm-thick slices, cutting across the grain. Mix together soy sauce, garlic, ginger and lemon zest. Add meat strips to the mixture and marinate for at least an hour.
Thread strips of meat onto wooden kebab sticks. Grill under a hot grill for about five minutes, turning to ensure even browning.

Peanut sauce
Heat oil in a saucepan and add onion.
Sauté until soft.
Add remaining ingredients and stir until smooth.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Serve with satays.
