    minced lean pork
  • 250

    minced lean beef
  • 1
    medium onion, chopped
  • 1
    thick slice bread
  • 125
    ml
    milk
  • 5
    ml
    salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
 

Method

 
Mix ingredients together lightly with a fork. Shape into patties. Grill over the coals, under the oven element or in a riffle pan until the meat is cooked. Serve hamburgers on wholewheat, brown or white bread rolls. Platters piled with a variety of fresh salad ingredients offer each guest the opportunity to indulge in his or her personal preferences - making their own 'designer' burgers. Some suggested salad ingredients: Leaf or butter lettuce, tomatoes, pineapple slices, onion rings (fresh or fried), pickles, fresh cucumber slices, radishes or bean sprouts.
