Baked bananas in cream cheese

    creamed cottage cheese

    butter
  • 4
    large bananas
  • 60
    ml
    cream
  • 40
    g
    soft brown sugar
  • 3
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • 40
    g
    almond slivers
 

Method

15 minutes
 
Beat the cheese to soften. Set aside.
Heat the butter in a heavy-based frying pan and sauté banana halves until browned on both sides.
Lay 4 banana halves in a shallow buttered ovenproof serving dish. Cover with half of the cheese.
Top with the remaining banana halves. Cover with the remaining cheese. Pour the cream over the cheese.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the top, followed by the almond slivers.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ºC for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is a golden brown colour and almonds are toasted.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately with whipped cream.
