Bacon and beans

  • 300
    g
    pork sausages
  • 250
    g
    bacon, chopped
  • 2
    large onions, sliced into rings
  • 2
    garlic cloves,crushed
  • 400
    g
    (1 can) chopped tomatoes
  • 75
    g
    (1 small can) tomato paste
  • 30
    ml
    fresh mixed herbs, chopped
  • 800
    g
    (2 cans) mixed beans, drained
 

Method

 
In a deep pan, fry the pork sausages in a little oil until done.
Slice the cooked sausages into smaller pieces and set aside.
In the same pan, fry the bacon and onions until done.
Add the garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, beans and sausage pieces.
Cover and simmer slowly for about 1 hour.
Serve with crusty bread and a salad.
