Sloppy Joes

These are a real favourite with kids. Be sure to have plenty of napkins handy.

Ingredients

 
  • 500
    g
    lean beef mince
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    red pepper - cubed
  • 2
    cloves garlic - crushed
  • 410
    g
    tomato purée
  • 25
    ml
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 10
    ml
    mustard powder
  • 5
    buttered rolls - to serve

Method

 
Heat oil in a large saucepan and brown the mince. Add onion, red pepper and garlic and cook over high heat until onion and red pepper have softened, stirring the mixture continuously.

Add remaining ingredients and 50 ml water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Spoon into rolls and serve immediately.
