French toast and dried fruit

    honey

    dried apricots, diced

    raisins

    cherries

    pecan nuts, chopped

    slices French bread

    cheese, grated

    milk
  • 4
    large eggs
  • Salt and pepper

Method

Mix the honey, apricots, raisins, cherries and nuts.

Set aside.

Cut into the side of the crust of the slice of bread (2,5 cm thick, diagonally cut slices) to form a pocket.

Fill each pocket with cheese.

Beat the milk and eggs together and season with salt an pepper.

Soak the filled slices, one at a time in the egg mixture.

The bread must be well saturated. Heat butter in a pan and fry the bread for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Add more butter if necessary.

Place the toast on a baking sheet in the oven to keep warm.

Serve with dried fruit mixture.
