Bacon burgers

    g
    streaky bacon, chopped
  • 1
    large onion, finely chopped
  • 2
    ml
    mustard powder
  • 2
    ml
    nutmeg
  • 25
    g
    fresh white breadcrumbs
  • flour for coating
  • 30
    ml
    butter
 

Method

Mix the bacon and onion in a bowl with the mustard, nutmeg and freshly ground black pepper.
Add the breadcrumbs and bind the mixture.
If the mixture is too dry, add one lightly beaten egg.
Divide the mixture into four and form into flat patties, flouring your hands each time.
Toss each bacon patty in flour to coat.
Heat the butter in a large frying pan and cook the burgers for approximately five minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve with a green salad.
