Ingredients (11)

1 pork ribs — (about 1.5kg)
MARINADE:
1 fresh ginger — thumb-sized, grated
3 cloves garlic — cloves, crushed
1-2 red chilli — deseeded, finely chopped
5 ml cinnamon — ground
5 ml Chinese five-spice powder
125 ml honey
125 ml soy sauce
30 ml brown sugar — soft
30 ml sesame oil
lemons — juice only

Method:

Mix the marinade ingredients. Place the ribs in a bowl and pour the marinade over. Set aside in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight.

Braai the ribs over mild coals for about 45-60 minutes until cooked and soft, brushing marinade over at intervals.

Cut in portions between the ribs and brush marinade over.

Braai quickly over the coals until crispy all over. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve.
