Red tea orange drink

    pieces stick cinnamon
  • 10
    whole cloves
  • 20
    loose Rooibos tea
  • 1
    boiling water
  • 500
  • 750
    orange juice, chilled
  • 250
    lemon juice
  • ice cubes
  • 1
    orange, thinly sliced (optional)


Place the stick cinnamon, cloves and loose Rooibos tea (or use two Rooibos tea bags) in a saucepan on the stove and pour over the boiling water. Add the sugar, stirring continuously so that the sugar dissolves before the mixture comes to the boil. Boil the mixture for 5 minutes. Cool and strain the liquid through a sieve. Add the fruit juice and ice cubes just before serving. Pour into pretty glasses and decorate each with a slice of orange if desired. Makes 2,2 litres.
