Dumplings in syrup

    boiling water
  • 190
    ml
    sugar
  • 7
    ml
    butter
  • 7
    ml
    cinnamon
  • 2
    ml
    salt
  • DUMPLINGS

    ml
    butter, melted
  • 3
    extra-large eggs
  • 100
    ml
    cake flour
  • 7
    ml
    baking powder
  • 2
    ml
    salt
 

Method

 
Heat all the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan. Stir until all the sugar has melted and bring to the boil. Beat together the butter and eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients and rapidly stir into the butter mixture. Spoon teaspoonfuls of the mixture into the syrup, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the dumplings are done. Serve hot. Serves 3-4.
