Heat oil in a pan and fry onion to soften. Add paste and mushrooms.
Fry for a further 2-3 minutes, remove from pan and set aside.
Heat more oil and fry mince until well browned. Add onion mixture, stock powder, star anise, sauces and water.
Simmer for 20 minutes until sauce has thickened and reduced. Serve mince with remaining ingredients in lettuce cups
Great idea: Cook spaghetti or egg noodles according to packet instructions and serve with leftover mince for spaghetti bolognese, Chinese-style.
