Lunch time will never be the same: New food-truck pop up has descended on Sandton

Food trucks are always a major addition to a city’s food culture, and while food trucks aren’t exactly new to Johannesburg, The Hoods Food Truck event is going to change Friday afternoon lunch trends in Sandton. 

Located at 15 Fredman drive, they hope to provide an alternative Friday lunch experience, that is both artisan and affordable, to the business commuters and the 250 000 strong population. 

There has been one, the second is tomorrow (20th) and the last – we hope not- will be on October 27th. There will be more events should the demand increase but for now, it’s just these three this month.

“The concept aims to provide an an array of artisan high quality affordable lunch options but at the same time creating a platform for the food truck entrepreneurs to do trade during the week.”

There is promise of new interesting and innovative food-centered ideas over the next few months and it’s said that they will be on par with the latest food trends in the world.

The trucks will be there from 11:00 – 15:00 each Friday in October and hopefully more regularly in November and December.
