WATCH: The world's oldest restaurant is still using an oven dating back to 1725

Sobrino de Botin was opened in 1725 by French cook Jean Botin and his wife. Later, a nephew took over the restaurant, giving it its present name.

With the number restaurants that open and quickly close in Cape Town, it's almost unfathomable to think that the world's first restaurant is still in existence - and thriving.
