Another week has passed us by and the weekend is beckoning us with hints of parties, sleep-ins and midnight feasts. Unfortunately somebody has to plan the menus that correspond with these festivities, do not fear Food24 has done it for you.

Try something a bit different tonight and bring out the old fondue set. (I know you have one in the back of your cupboard.) You can make it an intimate evening for two or call your friends over and make this traditional cheese fondue or mix it up with this Thai fish fondue.

Seal the deal and end off your fondue night with the chocolate fondue, your guests or partner will love you forever.

After a week of being good and eating only Kellogg’s special K for breakfast, let loose and treat yourself to these amazing apricot fritters.

If you are in Cape Town this weekend, why not pop into The Good Food and Wine Show. Rub shoulders with chefs such as Ainsley Harriott and Skye Gyngell; you can sample tasty morsels; drink wine and cocktails and learn so much more about food.

If you live in Joburg pop into the Jo'burg Wine Show, Come taste, try and buy wines from over 130 Estates. Learn about wine and wine-making in our Wine Theatre, or brush up on the latest food and wine pairing tips in the Friends for Dinner Theatre.

For those unlucky ones who aren't able to attend, make yourself feel better with a big bowl of comforting pasta with avocado, mint sauce and fried prosciutto and some old-school mint and malt shakes.

Do something different for breakfast and try these baked eggs with tomatoes and bacon.

Then get comfortable with a good book and a bowl of this delicious blue cheese and almond spinach soup.

End off your weekend with a traditional roast chicken served with a slightly untraditional courgette and parmesan stuffing.
