Winter specials

And if you really don’t want to head out then I suggest you take a peek at some of these awesome winter recipes.

Well it’s that time of year again. We are now fully into winter with today being the second shortest day of the year. Tomorrow is the shortest, and it’s Friday, so I'm sure that deserves a beer at lunchtime!

Winter is not the easiest time of year to step out of your fat pants and the comfort of your warm home, yet it is the most sensible time to head out for something to eat with your crew.  Because right now all these lovely restaurants are practically giving food away.  With half price this and 2-4-1 that… It’s a foodie lottery!

R9.99 for a bottle of wine. Foodie workshops. Fine Dining. Hot dogs. Eat Greek.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, Monday is the new Thursday.

Plus once you are in there sitting next to a roaring fireplace you’ll totally be grateful you made the effort. For half the price.  It’s a no-brainer.

So, on that note, if you haven’t checked out our winter specials page – then clearly you need to get with it.

But what we really want is for you to share any amazing specials that you know about with us. So restaurants, people who work in restaurants, friends of people who work in restaurants, people who frequent restaurants, Sociable Sallies and general know-it-alls, we need you to step up to the plate.

Email us on and let us know what restaurant special is warming your tummy this year. We’ll give the sender of the most hearty restaurant special email a R500 Kalahari voucher.

Now that’s good deal!

So go on folks – support these awesome restaurants during this lean time. Make the effort and go out. Your other half will like you better for it. I promise.
