WATCH: South Africans lead the fight against food waste

Food waste in South Africa is growing at an alarming rate with almost a third of all food being wasted every year.

About 10 million tonnes of food is wasted annually in South Africa while 12 million people don’t know where their next meal will come from. These communities are trying to save good conditioned unused food, through soup kitchens as well as small farming systems within their areas.
