Mid-winter feasting

The longest day of the year has just ticked over.

We are mid-winter folks. Deep in the darkness and I’m
very, very hungry.

I crave serious roasts, with fall-off-the bone meat and
thick, salty gravies sticky with wine and herbs.

I have bowls brimming with lots of garlic, rosemary and
onions and the freezer is packed with all sorts of things like knuckles in red wine
and spicy curries.

I need warmth and dim lighting and roaring fireplaces whilst
wrapped around a great bowl of creamy risotto or some seriously chunky soup.

Let’s dive back under the blankets people and indulge in
some serious winter feasting. Turn up the heat with a chilli hot chocolate and
dust off the red wine bowls of glasses.

Get some mates over for some slow-cooked lamb shanks with parmesan mash and lemony beans. Top it all off decadently with an
oozing chocolate fondant or sweet and steaming malva pudding. Perfect.

Oh, and don’t forget to wear some buttonless pants.
