All things Braaied and Beautiful

Right
South Africans, it’s Heritage Day this Saturday and it’s going to be the
biggest National Braai Day ever.

There’s
something so special about a braai
isn’t there? It’s that smell. The smoky, earthy smell of a good time
with friends and family.

Much
huddling around the embers, discussing the absolute right time to tan the meat
and many a clutched ice-cold beer.

I
have such wonderful memories emblazoned at the side of my weber and I have to
say I am a wood girl all the way. Burnt boerie for all you gas braai-ers out
there! Hey, I’m not saying I’m right – what
do you think
?

We’ve
got some seriaas braai recipes
for all of you who are going to go big this weekend. We’ve got everything from
awesome marinades
to fantastic lamb
chops
. There’s some mouth-watering braai
snacks
to wrap your chompers around whilst you ponder the flames and loads
of creamy potato
bakes
to choose from.

There’s

recipes if you like things spicy, delicious braai
sides
and don’t forget the salad!
There’s something for everyone here, including some awesome mushroom

amazing bloggers have also been been busy planning some drool-worthy recipes.
Check out Nina’s Bok
Friday
post and Carey’s awesome fish and chips braai. And, of course, there is always braai

And
what is it that makes Braai Day so perfect this year? The Rugby World Cup is in
it’s prime and the Kiwis
are playing France
at 10h30.

Can life get any better?
