No pre-soaking, no rinsing, and no more mushy basmati rice guaranteed! This is as hassle-free as basmati rice possibly gets – the microwave really does do all the work for you and the clean-up is minimal, so what’s not to love?

All you need is one cup of basmati rice, two cups of water, and a generous pinch of salt. Combine all the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl, give a quick stir and microwave on high for 15 minutes.
Allow the rice to stand and steam in the microwave with the door closed for a further 2–5 minutes. Remove the rice from the microwave, gently fluff with a fork and serve while warm and steamy!
