Your weekend feast – 16 December 2016

Not only is it a weekend… it’s a long weekend! What better way to celebrate than with an icy festive cocktail?! It’s fun and fresh and will certainly get the party started.

Next week, we’ll be indulging in all manners of rich Christmas food so we thought we’d keep this week’s menu a touch lighter with fresh salads, seafood rice paper rolls and fruity treats.

Dive into this biltong Caprese salad – a unique South African twist on a true Mediterranean favourite.

Get the family into the festive spirit by making your own edible biscuit Christmas tree. (Word of warning: we can’t promise the tree will last very long!)

Hands up – who loves garlic bread?! If you’re a fan, look no further than this showstopper of a cheesy garlic bread. Carb heaven for sure.

For a light and fresh starter, get stuck into a crowd pleaser of melon, prosciutto and goat’s cheese. Yum.

Feel like a bit of Asian inspired finger food? We highly recommend Jenny Morris’ prawn and nectarine rolls served with a zingy dipping sauce.

Or go for simple but tasty garlic and coriander chicken kebabs on the braai. Scrumptious!

Chocoholics, don’t despair as we have just the thing that will make you swoon – a baked blackberry chocolate fondant tart.
