What we’ll be eating in 2015

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to 2015.

If – like me, you feel like you ate ALL the mince pies this Christmas, you’ll be happy to see the Eat Right recipe hub on our homepage which is overflowing with healthy, nutritious recipes to get you feeling light, radiant and ready for whatever this year has in store for you.

Made any resolutions? Mine is never to eat out at the same place twice (which shouldn’t be too hard considering there are some great new restaurants that have opened!).

In terms of trends, what buzzwords can you expect this year? Read our 2015 food trend predictions to find out. Banting is still big with February seeing the first International Low Carb High Fat Health Summit being held in Cape Town. We suggest booking your place ASAP if you’re a devotee to the lifestyle and don’t forget to take a squiz at all our LCHF recipes.

Now what would a New Year’s Summer be without a braai?! The weather is just peachy right now and there’s no better way to enjoy the outdoors than popping some food on the coals or enjoying a beach picnic at sunset. One of my favourite things to make in Summer are wholesome smoothies in the mornings with some of the season’s ripest, juiciest fruit. Peaches are in and here are 5 ways to use them at home

Many people choose to avoid alcohol in January in order cleanse their livers a bit after wine-soaked parties in December, but if you simply cannot – don’t forget to check out what wines our wine editor recommends for the Summer heat. And if you’re still in the throes of entertaining, run – don’t walk, to this recipe hub where you’ll find loads of great recipes to impress even the pickiest guest. Think glorious salads, recipes for a Greek feast, chocolatey doughnut bites and much more.

Wishing you a fun, inspiring, food-filled year ahead!
