There’s been an ongoing movement to reduce the use of soft plastic sipping straws. Straws are killing our sea life and destroying the environment at an alarming rate.

Local establishments, chain restaurants and individuals can make an active difference by encouraging our local hangouts to #refusethestraw and offer practical alternatives.

If you want to make a small lifestyle change with a big impact, consider reminding your favourite place to not give you a straw, bring your own metal, glass or bamboo option, or frequent restaurants that don’t use any harmful plastic straws (like our list below).

Ongoing list:
If you know of a restaurant, coffee shop, bar or retailer that is refusing plastic straws please email us. Be sure to include if they have completely banned plastic straws and/or if they have reusable straws for use.
