La Parada is a stylish tapas bar and restaurant on the main road in Kalk Bay and is the newest addition to the Harbour House family. It opened in February 2013, serving authentic Spanish tapas from the Seville region of Spain.
The chef, Eva de Jesús, hails from Spain and recently moved to the Mother City. Eva was trained in Seville and was previously a chef at the well known 3 star Michelin restaurant in Madrid known as La Taberna del Alabardero. The Seville styled tapas served at La Parada is typical of what is found in the Andalucian region of Spain of which Seville is the capital. Andalucía prides itself on being the true home of Spanish tapas.
Capetonians are familiar with the concept of tapas-small portions of food that give diners a chance to sample many differing flavours. La Parada’s hot and cold tapas offering is varied and delicious with small and large portions available and with a selection of enticing mains on offer that include linefish with salsa verde and paprika calamari. The Serrano ham is cured locally by Lucas Jamon. A full bar service is available.
