Your weekend feast: 21 July 2017

We find ourselves slap bang at the height of Winter and while we can’t wait for Summer days, we’re definitely still savouring the comfort food that comes with the colder months.

Speaking of comfort food – keep on reading if you’re in need of some soul-soothing recipes this weekend.

Have you ever tried baking your own pastéis de nata? This weekend is a good time to do so with these dreamy Portuguese-style custard tartlets.

What is more comforting than a massive pot of soup? Clear your fridge from all the veggies and make this easy-as-1-2-3 everything-in vegetable soup.

The kids are back at school on Monday and this means it’s time to slowly but surely get into a healthy routine again. Start by swapping the waffles for breakfast with these colourful zucchini, pea and mint fritters served with a poached egg and roast tomatoes.

The weekend can go either two ways: you have loads of extra time to cook or you’re strapped for time but still in need of good comforting meals, this Cheat’s chicken biryani will suffice for the latter. Keep it in mind for busy work weeks too! Just saying.

A clever way to put the Winter chills at bay is making a carb-loaded, cheesy pasta bake. This bacon and mushroom gnocchi bake is basically macaroni and cheese on steroids!

At Food24 we’ve declared July as Chocolate Month. This chocolate marshmallow log is heaven in the form of a gooey, chocolate infused dessert. It’s flourless too!

If you’re entertaining and looking to make some homemade pub grub, these curried chicken Scotch eggs wrapped in bacon are your ticket to greatness!
