Your weekend feast: 2 June 2017

Welcome to the month of June!

We’re guessing that you’re just as excited for the weekend as we are! With the promise of good food, quality time with loved ones and the Good Food & Wine Show taking place in Cape Town, who wouldn’t be?

For now this is what we have on the menu for you.

During these icy Months leading up to Winter, your weekend breakfast should consist of warm and comforting wonders like these beef and goat’s cheese jaffles.

You might be tempted to devour this milk tart pancake mille-feuille as breakfast (because pancakes!) but we advise that you rather don’t. This is a shamelessly rich cake to be indulged in at dessert time (what time of the day that is, is totally up to you!)

If you’re entertaining, make a few bite-sized vetkoek with curried ostrich mince for guests to munch on. They make for a droolicious snack.

If you’re planning to throw something over the coals don’t forget our bacon-wrapped corn on the cob with curry butter.

With the promise of providing instant Winter warmth and comfort, who would dare turn down this succulent prawn and coconut cream curry? Serve it with a bowl of fluffy Basmati rice or some homemade naan bread.

This versatile tart goes down just as well on a sunny day as what it would on a rainy Autumn one. Made with a buttery pastry and rich and tasty filling, it will satisfy all your meat-free desires.

In the sinful-indulgence department we’ve got three different types of chocolate, prepared three different ways – triple chocolate in a jar.
