Weekend Feast: 15 June 2018

The weekend has finally arrived and with it, the rains have come. If you’re in Cape Town then make sure you snuggle up and stay warm this weekend as it’s going to be a cold one.

We all know the best way to keep warm is to have some good comfort food, stay indoors and with the soccer world cup kicking off, we can’t think of anything better than kicking back ourselves and watching the games.

Try something a little different for breakfast with these Matt Manning’s wild boar Scotch eggs, you might be so filled that you don’t even need lunch!

But if you’re still feeling a little hungry, have a slice or two of this tahini choc chip banana bread. Enjoy with a warm cup of coffee.

Have a heap of leftover choc-chips? When it comes to snack-time, you want something that will boost your energy levels, try these peanut butter and dark chocolate protein balls !

A warm bowl of soup will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy on the inside. Instead of making the usual butternut soup, try something different like this savoy cabbage, red pepper and cumin soup. Add some bread-sticks and lunch is ready.

A vegetarian delight; this lasagne stack with haloumi and creamy lemon sauce makes a moreish meal.

This is real comfort food, make this roast pork fillet with apple relish and rustic mashed potato and serve with a bed of roasted vegetables for dinner.

Warm drinks are a must-have and these Nutella hot chocolate truffles are a great and fun way to serve your hot chocolate. Think mini marshmallow balls dipped into milk!
