Viral food

No, don’t grab your face masks – it’s not contagious. Unless you
post a video on YouTube of yourself suggestively licking mashed
potatoes.

Meanwhile, in America, someone was stupid enough to do that.

A KFC employee posted a picture of herself, yes, licking a pile of mashed potatoes.

Now, which one of us hasn’t posed suggestively
outrageously with a food item (remember that one time at band camp?) But seriously, in this era of viral social media opportunities, it’s not
the cleverest thing to do.

Especially if you are wearing a KFC or Burger King uniform! Freaks.

On the other hand – food going viral can also be pretty cool.

Check out Jamie’s FoodTube. The cheeky chops has launched his own YouTube channel and it’s free and we love it!

Oh, and welcome to SORTED! If these 4 okes don’t make your day,  your week, your month easier, then nothing will.

And have a look at some of the great videos Food24 has posted on YouTube featuring some of SA’s top chefs. Not too shabby.

Check out this crazy list of the top watched Food videos of 2012!

So can we do it too?

Absolutely! Surely us innovative South Africans can come up with something cleverer than that?

So, we’re inviting you to have a go at your own Food Tube. Make your funny foodie video, send it to us on editor@food24.com – or load it on YouTube, tweet us on @food24 or load it on our Facebook page. Everyone has a smartphone with video capabilities these days. Don’t they?

Even if you just have a good idea, send us a mail. We’ll give you the credit.

If
we LOVE it, maybe other people will too. We’ll pop it up on our our
social media channels and let’s see if we can make foodie history. Just
like that chick at KFC.
