Remember when the world went crazy for the caffeinated TikTok trend, the whipped Dalgona? Well, it’s time for a refreshingly zingy #HotForSummer twist – whipped lemonade!
So, what exactly is a whipped lemonade? Essentially, it’s cream whipped with lemonade cordial or powder and served in a glass filled with ice and water. Over here in South Africa, though, we’re slightly obsessed with condensed milk and thus far more interested in the frozen whipped lemonade version also seen on TikTok. This creamy frozen version puts any old frappe to shame!
All you need is some sweet whipped cream, condensed milk, lemon juice, ice and a blender, and bam, summer bliss! It’s free from caffeine, relatively “child friendly” (unless you decide to spike it with a tipple or two – we’d highly recommend vodka or whisky for cocktail hour), and absolutely scrumptious!
Whipped lemonade is like the Dalgona’s super cool summer-ready cousin, but frozen whipped lemonade is the epitome of summer fun in a glass, with a much-needed note of trendy, refreshing sophistication!
