The proof is in the pudding

We’ve enlisted the help of Food24’s restaurant reviewers to point us in the sweetest direction.

If you love crème brûlée then a stop at Mano’s in Cape Town is a must. It’s a little slice of heaven on a plate and the same goes for the crème caramel at Bean Bag Bohemia in Durban. Food24 restaurant reviewer, Tina agrees: “It’s the best crème brûlée I have EVER had! Absolutely perfect, melt in your mouth, too die for! I’d sell my soul for it!”

If you love chocolate then Amanda recommends trying, “the chocolate cup dessert made with condensed milk and served with mini doughnuts – sinful!” at Jake’s on Summerly’s or the “chocolate fondant dessert was the best ever!” at Salt in Hazyview.

For some slightly ‘out of the box’ puds,
Mandy, suggests that you go to Poplars for “the best dessert I have ever had – crepes with liquorice ice cream!”

For another ‘differently’ decadent dessert, try Beluga’s wasabi ice-cream. “The wasabi ice-cream and parfait: the wasabi just added a very slight zing to the ice-cream, which was refreshing and unusual,” says Marilyn.

Five Flies also impressed our reviewers with their
poached pear, with chocolate mousse and meringue dessert and the variety at Roma Revolving Restaurant in Durban also got the nod from a couple of Food24 restaurant reviews.
