Hi food lovers,

Oh my garlic, it’s March and so much is happening at food24. I write this as your new editor *as I take a flourishing curtsey* which is a delicious role. With large boots to fill, I hereby pledge to feed your souls with beautiful, fresh content that you can bite into each and every day.

Right, now onto the really juicy stuff.

New food hubs

We’ve been beavering away to bring you amazing new foodie hubs which are the best collections of your favourite recipes. If you’re looking for some inspiration for supper, check out the chicken recipes hub, it’s filled with family-friendly meals. 

If you’re a veggie, our vegetarian section will rock your meat-free socks off and if your tooth is feeling sweet, have a drooling gawk at the desserts and cake recipes section. There’s something for everyone! A smoking hot braai area, seafood, baking, pasta and of course a collection of all our Top 10’s. Go go go.

Social media

“Can’t tweet right now, I’m too busy pinning!” has been Cath, our restaurant ed’s recent mantra. And with that, ladies and gents, I give you our shiny new Pinterest page. Pinterest is simply made for food and it’s so drop dead gorgeous – try not to dribble all over your keyboard.

Twitter is, as always, a wonderfully informative and cool place to have a chat and find out what’s potting in our realm of food, so follow us for a live feed into our world. And don’t you just love the new timeline format on Facebook? I think it’s beautiful.

Multimedia section

Our multimedia section has had a recent overhaul and is packed with gorgeous chefs videos, amazing restaurant galleries and scrummy step-by-steps. Grab a cuppa and go and play.

SA Wine List Awards

We bring you South Africa’s Wine List of the Year Awards. Powered by us in conjunction with MSquared, the awards will be the most inclusive awards to date, giving every restaurant, even ones with a smaller wine list, the chance to win. And you can enter online right now!

Masterchef

How excited are you? We’re about to pop our tarts with anticipation of SA’s first Masterchef. It all begins on Tuesday 20th, so swing by the next day for all the updates and latest gossip. Indulge in it all and enjoy!
