Popular UK Michelin star chef, Gary Rhodes dies at 59

Avid cooking-show lovers will be sad to hear of the death of Gary Rhodes, known for his spiky hair and bright, vibrant energy. Sky News reports that the 59-year-old chef passed away on Tuesday 26 November with his wife by his side. 

Gary was notorious for cooking shows like Rhodes Around Britain, MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen, but what some might not know is that the chef garnered an incredible five Michelin stars throughout his career (according to The Mirror). He was an advocate for British cuisine and was deemed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2006.

The food world is saddened by his passing, with many taking to social media to express their condolences. Local chef Liam Tomlin says he was “one of the best British Chefs ever”.
