Luke Dale-Roberts set to close his restaurant at The Saxon in Joburg

PRESS RELEASE – Cape Town, February 2018

As of 31 March 2018, Luke Dale-Roberts X Saxon will be closing its doors. This move comes after two incredibly successful years at The Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa in Johannesburg.

According to his PR company, Manley Communications, Luke plans to focus his efforts on his three Cape Town restaurants, namely The Test Kitchen, The Pot Luck Club and The Shortmarket Club, working to consolidate all the teams and their work in these three spaces.

The parting of ways between Dale-Roberts and George Cohen, managing director of The Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa is an amicable one and the two remain friends going forward.

“It has been an honour and pleasure to have had my good friend Chef Luke as a member of the Saxon Family for the past two years. We are delighted that Chef Candice will now come into her own with this exciting new venture, showcasing the culinary talents of not only herself but also her team. Further details on the new offering will be announced soon,” comments Cohen on these exciting developments.

The new restaurant at The Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa will open its doors officially on 10 April 2018, headed up by Candice Philip and her stellar team.

Dale-Roberts adds, “This is a great opportunity for Chef Candice Philip to shine in her own right. Working with her has been a pleasure and I’m excited to see what she comes up with at The Saxon to take it forward to its next culinary level.”

The celeb chef looks forward to establishing a new restaurant in Joburg within the next year. So watch this space, Joburgers!
