It’s like, the holidays again

Hello everyone,

Woohoo and wayhay it’s the holidays again.

I will bet you some elephant garlic that you have said, ‘Can you believe it’s almost April‘ in the last few days.

I just did. And I can’t believe it.

Whilst there’s always nodding heads and shew-it’s-crazy’s, if you think about it, so much has already happened.

We’ve had back-to-school, Valentine’s Day, months of pool-dunked summer braai days and now on to the Easter holidays!

What will you be up to?

I’ve got massive plans for as much relaxation as possible and this means cooking, eating and lots of foodie fun.

To start with, Heritage Day pops us a lovely little day off tomorrow and we’ll be braaiing up a storm. I’m thinking of some ultimate spare ribs with some amazing salads and perhaps some fun tortillas pizzas to start with – they’re so creative and you can plop pretty much anything on them.

And to drink? I’ll be using Cathy’s great Weekend wine box for inspiration. She knows simply all there is to know about what’s hot right now and of course, what’s good for the old pocket.

Then on to planning for the school holidays and finding things to entertain the little people. Cooking is such an interactive activity for them, so try some of these easy recipes for kids. And, if you’re planning a trip, we’ve got some padkos ideas to tide you over on the long journey.

It’s all about enjoying life and eating outdoors in our beautiful country.

Raise a glass, light a fire and kick off your slops.
